Faculty & Staff Giving

Welcome to the 2012-2013 Valencia Faculty and Staff Giving web site. Thank you for your interest in Valencia Foundation and for your dedication to students and their success.

Last year the Give Up a Cup campaign highlighted how each staff and faculty can leave their mark to benefit the students we serve at Valencia. With over 260 colleagues donating semi-monthly through payroll deductions this campaign was a huge success.

During Winter 2012 and Spring 2013 the committee will focus on helping not-quite-endowed scholarships reach the level for scholarship awarding. This effort will kick off with the December 2012 West Campus Chili Cookoff to supplement scholarships that are pending endowment. This ongoing good work is another example of the organic nature of our faculty and staff to create community within the college and support the students we serve.

We are happy to report that nine student scholarships were distributed as part of the the second SOC scholarship award in Fall 2012. Thank you!

Spring 2013 we would appreciate your support as we begin our Finish Line campaign to help not-quite-yet endowed scholarship reach their disbursement level and support our students in completion of their degree. We look forward to sharing information on how you can help in Spring 2013.

Valencia Foundation provides vital support to students and to the college through scholarships, endowed teaching chairs, and program support. At 2012 fiscal year end, the foundation provided more than $1 million in scholarships and student support. Sadly, the scholarship dollars awarded still meets less than half of the unmet documented financial need of our students each year.

This year, two committee chairs were selected to guide the foundation on ways the faculty and staff may help alleviate this student need. Josh Murdock and Katie Shephard can be reached if you have any questions or just wish to offer your support.

Spring 2012 giving campaign, led by volunteer faculty and staff committee members, to benefit Valencia and the students we serve.
